The Alabama Green Industry Training Center is a collaborative effort of many associations, agencies and industry professionals working together to educate the public and industry about environmentally related concepts.
Our primary path to accomplish that goal is to assist the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries and the Alabama Cooperative Extension System with their mission to educate and license industry professionals.
The Center is home to fifty or more seminar dates, state testing opportunities, networking events and association meetings each year. The volume and quality of those offerings will increase after the construction completes at the North Shelby Library.
The charitable buildout of the unfinished space should occur this summer and the Center will draw industry professionals, children and homeowners to diverse, educational programs taught by industry leaders.
The Center will also provide expertise to help a Green Infrastructure Pilot Program move forward in the Highway 119 Corridor and then help other communities learn about the possibilities for their areas.
The US Forest Service, Cawaco RC&D Council and others will be helping in that effort.
If you would like to attend events, help or volunteer or want to learn more about our projects, e-mail us at info@agitc.org.

Thanks to Alabama Power and the Alabama Urban Forestry Association for their help with a grant to purchase the trees.
Additional thanks are due Shelby County for providing the backhoe needed to transport and plant the trees.
