The Alabama Green Industry Training Center by the Numbers*
Estimated value of project - $450,000 +, includes:
·Base Interior Construction, valued at $225,000 - $250,000
· Patios, walls, sidewalk, trails, initial landscaping and irrigation valued at over $150,000
· Laptop computers, T-1 Installation, Hardware and On-Going Service for 10 years - $80,000
· Signage and Furnishings including desks, chairs, projectors, TVs, etc., - $25,000
· Future urban forestry, landscape, etc. demonstration areas - $50,000
· Future rent and utility payments to the NSL over ten years - $144,000
The project completed thus far, and including the sidewalk and landscaping, has been accomplished with many thousand hours of donated volunteer and partner’s staff time, in-kind materials and labor and an expenditure of approximately $130,000.
This money came from grants, donations, contributions and student tuitions.

Training Impact – AGITC staff and partners have conducted several hundred class days of training over the past three years and have reached many thousands of individuals with topics including pesticide safety, landscape management, urban forestry, wildlife management, aquatics, human health and much more.
Available Facilities – the AGITC has many options for meeting and classroom space, all connected by T-1 lines to distant sites, including:
· 150 seat meeting room, 24 days per year
· 65 seat classroom, as needed
· 16 seat Daniel Foundation of Alabama Conference Room, as needed
· 8 seat computer lab, as needed.
Green Industry members, agency and foundation supporters have scheduling priority for facility use.
The Alabama Green Industry Training Center greatly appreciates all the volunteers, contributors and loaned staff needed to accomplish this charitable project.
